STOP BITING NAILS

Pretty much anyone who has had a compulsive nail biting habit (or even just a minor one) will tell you that it's hard to quit nail biting. However, if you truly desire to kick your habit and stop nail biting once and for you, here are some techniques that you should try. Stopping nail biting is important as if continued you can end up with not only split and injured nails, but there is also a risk of infection and bleeding.

1      Speak openly at aloud to yourself about your nail biting habit. Make it a habit to look at your nails and remind yourself (aloud and internally) of the troubles associated with your nail biting.

2      Remind yourself how diferent healthy nails would look.

3      Stop biting nails by leaving one nail unbitten. After three days look at that nail and remidn yourself that all of your nails can appear like the unbitten nail.

4      Take a before picture of your nails. Aim to have an after picture that can remind you of the difference should you ever consider nail biting again.

5      Ensure that your diet contains enough calcium as well as magnesium. These nutrients will ensure that your nails are able to repair themselves in a quick matter after you stop nail biting. There are even studies that link a lack of these nutrients to the nail biting habit.
